One of the earliest major universities to launch a varsity esports program, Boise State built its program through a partnership between its College of Education and College of Innovation and Design, with a cutting-edge arena in downtown Boise featuring a 30-seat varsity competition space with a broadcast studio and a 34-seat practice battleground. The results speak for themselves: the Broncos have earned four national championships and 14 Mountain West Championships, with staff accolades including NACE Director of the Year, National Esports Coach of the Year, and NACE Broadcast Team of the Year — establishing Boise State as one of the gold-standard programs in all of collegiate esports.
